Children’s Museum of Bloomington-Normal – recycle relay
Allied Waste – recycling at home
Earth Partners – recycling activities, items made from corn and soybeans
Krannert Center for the Performing Arts – make your own guitar from recycled materials
Orpheum Children’s Science Museum
Architectural Spectrum – sustainable building materials
Tom Cain, Realtor – Segway alternative transportation
Community Outreach does exactly what the name implies. We reach out to the community.
This means not only do we want to educate the campus about acting in environmentally responsible ways, but we also want to motivate the people in Champaign-Urbana, young and old alike.
Some events from last year:
-Volunteer event with Circle of Friends Adult Day Care
-Volunteer event with an after-school program
-Research on an initiative to ban plastic bags
-Lecture by one of UofI's faculty members
