Battery Recycling
SECS has been providing a free battery and inkjet recycling service since 2004. We have drop off boxes in the Illini Union on the South Side.
SECS collects, sorts and ships out the batteries and ink jets weekly. It is real work that is done entirely by volunteers, and we are always looking for help. If you are interested in lending us a hand, contact David Duncan (duncan3@illinois.edu) or Eli Chen (chen94@illinois.edu).
Additionally if you live in the community, there are a number of great resources for recycling batteries in town.
