We will be having another meeting this *Thursday at 5:30pm in the basement
of the YMCA. *If you are not on a committee and would like to join one,
please come to the meeting and help out!! As you can see below, there is
still lots to do and so many fun things to plan and participate in. It's
never too late to join!

*-Greek Week started Monday! We are trying to *make a presentation for the
Variety Show* that will be held on* Thursday* - anyone who wants to help out
is more than welcome! email Cassie for more information!
- *THE APPLICATION FOR THE SURE GRANT IS IN!!!* wahooo!! We can get up to
$2000 to jump start our projects and ideas. Thanks to everyone who worked so
hard to get it off the ground in such a short amount of time!!
- We are doing an *interview for the DI this Wednesday*. We need a few
members from the club to come to the meeting, so *if you are free
on Wednesday evening after 5:30pm ,

*Concert for Karen
A benefit concert for Karen Rosenthal, a victim of cervical cancer
Saturday Sept. 29
Doors open at 6PM
Playing: Priebe, Woland, The Safes
Cost: $7
Money goes to Women's Alliance, a group that Karen was really active in and
cared deeply for the cause...to help underprivileged women get into the work
force.
*Committee Updates:*
-*Outreach*: Working on a possible energy audit for each Greek house,
- aluminum can competition,
- getting an environmental liaison person in each house to work with
- Surveys for Greek houses
-*Fundraising*: working on undergrad SURE grant and finding additional
funding
-*Marketing*: Researching all means of advertising (Buzz, DI, WPGU, Green
Observer),
- a series piece in the Buzz is already in the works!
-attempting to create a logo to put on all of our advertisements (if you have
any ideas..email

- Logo recycling bags for events?
-*Events*: Planning for possible benefit concert in mid October, possible

concert during homecoming week,
-creating presentation for city council,
- recycling sculpture for people to "build on" with their recyclables at
IHelp
- quad tabling
- concert event with NRES 299 Class
*-Membership*: planning some fun events for the club
*-Research*: working on organizing existing research to make available to
others,
- also working on proposal for sure grant,
-compiling list of places to call to question their recycling policy
FINALLY, *attached is a survey for all members in the club*. We just want to
get to know all of you since club meetings are generally focused just on
what we need to get done. Please *print out this survey, fill it out, and
bring it to next week's meeting *. If you cannot attend, we still want to
get to know you! Just fill it out and email it back to me (ccarrol2@uiuc.edu).
THANKS SO MUCH! This also will give us a good idea of all the resources we
have at hand.
