Hey Everyone!!!
I hope you all had an awesome weekend and are having a great Tuesday! If
you are new, please let me know what you would be interested in doing or
what committee you would like to be a part of. Its never too late to start
helping out!! The next meeting will be this *Thursday at 5:30pm in the
basement of the YMCA*
Also, *the survey is attached. PLEASE FILL THIS OUT!!* It gives us a better
idea of the resources we have and we get to know you guys!! You can just
email it back to me...Thanks!!
Here are this week's updates and reminders:
*Announcements:*
- *WE GOT IN THE DI!!!* wahhoooo!!! check it out:

- Three of us presented on last Thursday night at the Greek Week
Variety Show and got about* 5 houses signed up for more information*!
- We will have a* logo by Friday at the latest*...hopefully by our
meeting this Thursday!!
- *Join the CORE Facebook group*!! It will be a good forum for
questions and getting new members that may not have heard about us:

- Look in the* Buzz tomorrow* for our first series piece!!
- We are* co-sponsoring the concert event* that the NRES 299 class is
organizing on *Nov. 9th!!*
- CLEAR YOUR CALENDARS for* next Thursday night (Oct. 11th)* because
we are having a *KEGGER at my place*!! It will start around *9pm* and
last until the keg is done :-) There will be a* *keg, food, and some
special juice for people who don't like beer. I live at *1006 S. 3rd
St., Apt # 19 (brick building right behind Phi Mu, 3rd and Armory). *COME
AND GET TO KNOW EVERYONE!!!

*Outreach:*
- Greek community outreach! *Obtain list of presidents*, start getting
representatives to meetings within 1-2 weeks
- *Oct 15th - Greek Dinner announcements!!*
- Go to the houses, make a quick announcement about who we are
and what we are doing, leave an informational flyer for them.
- email Mara if you want to help! meisens2@uiuc.edu
- Make a sample email with our mission statement, what we are doing,
and ask for support/representative
*Events:*
- *1st Event! - Nov 3rd*
- Informational/workshop format to bring all interested groups
together for brainstorming and see where they can fit in to help us out
- Food, Raffle, shirts?
- Worksheet for each group to fill out and then share in a
discussion afterwards
- Powerpoint presentation needed
- We will be meeting with a leader of each group the week before
the event to see where each group can fit in and what they can contribute
(Oct 22nd- Oct 28th) - also to help prepare their group for the 1st event
- *Living Green Week - SECS (Nov 5th-9th)*
- We will be working with SECS on this week promoting it and
participating in their barcrawl
- Barcrawl - all the bars we visit MUST recycle all their cans
and glass for the night, special deals for green drinks? , T-Shirts
- No cover if you buy the T-Shirt at each bar on barcrawl list
- *Living Green Week Concert - Co-Sponsoring this - Nov 9th*
- Nov 9th at the Canopy Club
- We can give a little informational talk in between bands
- More to come on this
- Local artist for recycling sculpture for event?

*Marketing:*
- We will have a *logo by the latest on Friday*, if not by our meeting
on Thursday!!!
- Research costs of shirts, printing on recycle bags, etc.
- *What should we put in the website*?
- Need a* representative/liason between CORE and NSAC* (adverstising
group on campus) - they will put a committee on our project
- Video documentary - *film students?*
*Finances:*
- If your committee needs funding, just let them know what you would
need it for and they can start a budget for you!
- Seach for more funding/ brainstorm fundraising ideas
- *SURE Grant is in the works*, so we're just waiting to hear back
from that!

*Research: *
- *HUGE thank you to Josh Kolb for organizing for us to go on the
recycling facility tour!!!*
- Go through materials and identify questions that still need to be
answered

*Membership:*
- We need a fun event, and why not throw a *Kegger next Thursday*?
- Where: 1006 S. 3rd, Apt # 19 (3rd and Armory)
- When: Oct 11th, 9pm
- Cups will be $3...not too shabby :)
- Keg, Special Juice, Food.......come and get to know everyone!
I know that's a lot, but we are really moving forward!
*Aaron and I will be meeting with Tim Hoss and other recycling experts* to
really solidify a recycling pick up plan and answer a lot of our questions,
so more on that to come!
